The set introduces children to familiar life cycles through picture sequencing, matching, labelling and simple writing tasks. Younger children can identify pictures, colour stages and place them in order with help. Older children can read stage names, complete missing labels and explain how one stage changes into the next. Topics include plants and animals such as butterflies, frogs, chickens and ladybugs. The activities use clear pictures and short instructions, so you can choose a suitable page for Nursery, LKG, UKG or early primary learners.
At home, begin by talking about a seed, caterpillar or frog before your child starts the worksheet. Ask your child to act out each stage, then complete the ordering task together. In class, place picture cards on the floor and let small groups arrange them before writing on their sheets. Use a completed worksheet as a speaking prompt, asking children to say what happens first, next and last. You can also keep a few pages for revision after a nature walk, story or EVS lesson. For a focused lesson, pair the activity with Life Cycle of a Butterfly or Life Cycle of a Plant.
A common mistake is to treat a life cycle as a straight line that ends at the adult stage. Help your child see that the adult plant or animal may produce seeds or young, and the cycle begins again. Children may also mix up the order of stages or use everyday names instead of science words. Point to each picture, say the word slowly and ask what evidence they can see, such as roots, wings or eggs. Remind them that different animals have different stages, so a frog's cycle will not look the same as a chicken's.
Children practise recognising, ordering and naming stages in the lives of plants and animals. They also build observation and sequencing skills.
They suit children aged 4 to 8, with simpler picture tasks for younger learners and labelling or writing activities for older children.
Start with a familiar example, such as a seed growing into a plant or a butterfly changing from a caterpillar. Talk through the pictures together before your child completes the worksheet.
