The set gives children repeated practice with the Badi Ee Ki Matra, written as ी. Younger children can trace the matra, identify words and colour familiar pictures such as सीप, नीला and चींटी. Children who are ready to write can complete missing matras, match words to pictures, read short word groups and copy simple Hindi words. The activities move from recognising the sound to using it in writing. For more early Hindi practice, you can also use the Hindi Swar Worksheets alongside this set.
At home, begin with one short activity and say each word slowly with your child. Ask your child to listen for the long ee sound, point to the ी matra and then read the whole word. In class, place a few word cards on the board and let children sort words with and without the matra before starting the worksheet. Pair children for reading practice, with one child pointing to each letter and the other blending the word. Older children can write two new ी matra words of their own after finishing.
Children may leave out the ी matra, place it on the wrong letter or read a short इ sound instead of the long ई sound. Say a pair such as दिन and दीन slowly, then ask your child to notice how the word changes. Remind them that the matra is written before the consonant in its printed position, even though it is read after the consonant sound. If a word feels difficult, cover part of it, read one letter at a time and join the sounds gently. Keep correction brief and let your child try again.
Badi Ee Ki Matra is the long ee vowel sign, written as ी. It is used with consonants in words such as नीला, दीपक and सीप.
