This set uses clear animal pictures with large, easy-to-read names. Younger children can point to an animal, copy its name and match a card to a toy or picture book. Children in LKG, UKG and Class 1 can sort animals, say their sounds and describe simple features such as fur, feathers, horns or a tail. The selection can include familiar pets, farm animals, birds and wild animals, giving children useful everyday vocabulary without making the cards too busy.
At home, show two or three cards at a time and ask your child to find the animal you name. Turn the cards face down for a simple memory game, or place them around the room for an animal hunt. In class, children can sort cards into pets, farm animals and wild animals, then act out an animal movement. Use the cards alongside Alphabet Flashcards or Fruits Flashcards for short vocabulary activities.
Young children may call every large animal a tiger or confuse animals that look alike, such as a goat and a sheep. Say the word slowly, let your child repeat it and point out one clear feature. Model the full phrase, such as, "It is a brown cow", rather than correcting harshly. For animal sounds, explain that sounds can differ between languages and homes. Focus first on recognising the animal and saying its name, then add details such as where it lives or what it eats.
They suit children from about 2 to 6 years. Younger children can name and point, while older children can sort, describe and use the animal names in sentences.
Show only a few cards at a time. Name each animal clearly, ask your child to point to one, and invite them to copy the word or animal sound.
