About drawing practice

Drawing activities for different skills

This subcategory brings together printable activities that help your child practise one drawing skill at a time. Complete the Picture Worksheets invite children to add missing parts to an image. Symmetry Drawing Worksheets use a line of symmetry to guide the other half. Grid Drawing Worksheets break a picture into small sections for careful copying. Drawing Prompts for Kids give an idea to draw, while Easy Drawing for Kids offers simple subjects and steps. The topic pages are grouped by activity type, so you can choose a focused task instead of searching through unrelated art pages.

Choosing a worksheet by age and level

Start with the amount of guidance your child needs rather than age alone. A 4 or 5 year old may enjoy completing a large picture or drawing from a simple prompt with plenty of open space. Children in LKG, UKG and Class 1 can try basic shapes, missing details and easy step-by-step drawings. Older children in Classes 2 to 5 may be ready for smaller grid sections, more detailed pictures or symmetrical designs. For a gentle progression, begin with prompts, move to picture completion, then try grids or symmetry when your child is ready for closer observation.

Simple ways to use them at home or in class

Print one page for a short after-school activity, or set up a small drawing station with pencils, erasers and crayons. Ask your child to name the shapes or lines used before adding colour. In class, you can give different worksheets to small groups based on their current level, then invite children to explain how they copied a section or completed a picture. Keep a few prompt pages for quiet work, art periods or early finishers. A useful home routine is to spend 10 to 15 minutes drawing, then let your child show the page and talk about one choice they made.

Download and print from EarlyActivity

A free account can download up to 20 printables a day. The files are PDFs sized for A4 and US Letter paper. When printing, select Actual size or 100% so the lines and drawing spaces keep their intended size. You may use the printables at home or in your own classroom.
