About paper crafts

Paper crafts arranged by activity

The collection brings together paper crafts for kids in small topic groups, so you can choose an activity without searching through unrelated pages. Paper Plate Crafts and Handprint Crafts use familiar materials and are suitable for guided making. Cut Out Animals and Paper Dolls give children shapes to colour, cut and arrange. Paper Chain Crafts, Paper Lantern Craft and Kite Making for Kids add folding, joining or simple construction. Start with Paper Crafts for Kids when you want a general set of ideas, then select a topic based on your child's interest.

Choosing a craft by age and level

For a four-year-old, choose large shapes, colouring and simple gluing, such as a handprint animal or a paper plate face. Children aged five or six may manage Cut Out Animals, Paper Dolls or short paper chains with help to cut smaller parts. Older children can try folding a Paper Lantern Craft or assembling a kite from several pieces. Read the activity instructions before printing and prepare scissors, glue, crayons or colour pencils. You can make a craft easier by pre-cutting shapes, or add a challenge by asking your child to create their own pattern.

Using paper crafts at home or in class

At home, set out one craft with scrap paper, child-safe scissors, glue and colouring materials. A Paper Doll can become part of a short story, while a paper chain can decorate a reading corner or a child's study space. In class, print the same activity for a small group and let children share crayons and glue. Use Handprint Crafts for a family display, or make paper plates into masks for a role-play activity. Keep a finished model nearby so children can see the steps, while still allowing them to choose their own colours and details.

Downloading and printing from EarlyActivity

Open the topic page you want, then download the printable PDF using your free EarlyActivity account. Free accounts can download up to 20 printables a day. The files are sized for A4 and US Letter paper, so select the paper size that matches your printer and print at Actual size, or 100%. Check that your printer has enough paper and ink before a group activity. Print one copy first if you need to check the scale. Use these files at home or in your own classroom. Sharing or reselling the files is not allowed.
