About hindi worksheets

Hindi worksheets organised by skill

This subcategory brings together early Hindi practice and primary-level language work. Start with Hindi Varnamala Worksheets, Hindi Swar Worksheets, Hindi Vyanjan Worksheets and Hindi Alphabet Tracing Worksheets. Children can then practise Aa Ki Matra, Choti E Ki Matra, Badi Ee Ki Matra, Chota U Ki Matra, Bada Oo Ki Matra, E Ki Matra, Ai Ki Matra, O Ki Matra and Au Ki Matra. Other pages cover Anusvar, Barakhadi, two and three-letter words, Hindi counting, opposites, synonyms, grammar, unseen passages and sentence formation. Class 1, Class 2 and Class 3 pages help you select work at a school level.

Choose a level that suits your child

For a child aged about 3 or 4, begin with large letter tracing, Hindi Swar Worksheets and simple Vyanjan practice. A child who knows the letters can move to Barakhadi, matra pages and Do Akshar Wale Shabd. For ages 5 to 6, try Teen Akshar Wale Shabd, Hindi Ginti 1 to 100 and short sentence work. Children in Class 1 may practise matras, word reading and basic grammar. Class 2 and Class 3 children can work on Ling Badlo, Vachan, Sangya, Sarvanam, Kriya, Visheshan and Hindi Apathit Gadyansh. Choose one small skill at a time and repeat it with new examples.

Simple ways to use the pages

At home, print one page for a short 10 to 15 minute practice session. Say each letter or word aloud, let your child trace it, and ask them to find the same sound in a familiar word. Keep a small folder for completed pages so you can see which matras need more practice. In class, place tracing, matching or word pages at a language centre for individual work. You can read a short passage aloud before children answer it. Pair children for word reading, then let each child complete the written part independently. Pencils, crayons and a ruler are usually enough.
