About general knowledge (gk)

Topics arranged for easy GK practice

This General Knowledge section brings related printable activities together, so you can choose a topic without searching through unrelated worksheets. Children can practise Indian national symbols, states and capitals, freedom fighters, monuments, festivals, fruits, vegetables and colours. Other topics cover countries and flags, continents and oceans, inventors and inventions, and map skills. The GK Worksheets and GK Questions for Kids pages provide wider practice. Start with familiar subjects such as colours or fruits, then move to places, people and maps as your child gains confidence.

Choose activities by age and level

For ages 4 to 6, choose picture matching, colouring, tracing and simple naming activities. A Nursery or LKG child might match a fruit to its name or identify the Indian flag. For ages 6 to 8, try word searches, fill-in-the-blanks and simple GK questions about festivals, animals, countries or national symbols. Children in Classes 3 to 5 can work on states and capitals, continents and oceans, map skills, monuments, freedom fighters, and inventors. Read the worksheet first and choose a page your child can attempt with a little support.

Simple ways to use GK worksheets

At home, use one short worksheet after a story, a visit to a museum, or a conversation about a festival. Ask your child to explain two answers rather than rushing through the whole page. In class, pair children for a map activity, make a state and capital matching game, or let small groups sort country flags by continent. Keep a small folder for completed work and revisit a topic after a week. You can also cut out selected cards or pictures for oral revision, provided the printables remain for use at home or in your own classroom.

Download and print from EarlyActivity

Open a topic page, choose the worksheet you need, and download the PDF after signing in to a free EarlyActivity account. Free accounts can download up to 20 printables a day. The files are sized for A4 and US Letter paper. Select Actual size or 100% in your printer settings so words and boxes keep their intended size. Print in black and white for writing tasks or colour pages when pictures and flags help your child. The files are for your home or your own classroom, so please do not share or resell them.
