Fantasy and Fairy Tales Coloring Pages

This subcategory brings together colouring pages based on familiar fantasy and fairy tale ideas. You can choose from unicorns, dragons, mermaids, fairies, princesses, princes, castles, knights, pegasuses, phoenixes, wizards, robots, monsters, pirates and superheroes. Each topic has its own page, so you can go straight to a child's favourite subject instead of searching through unrelated pictures. Some pages show one large character, while others include a setting or a simple story scene. This makes it easy to pick a quick colouring activity or a page with more details to discuss.

For children aged 3 to 5, start with pages that have a large main picture and clear spaces, such as a unicorn, castle or friendly dragon. Children aged 5 to 8 can try scenes with a princess, knight, fairy, pirate or robot, using several colours and adding details of their own. Children aged 8 to 12 may enjoy busier pictures with a phoenix, wizard, superhero or castle setting. To make an activity easier, name the colours together or colour one section at a time. For more challenge, ask your child to create a background or write two sentences about the picture.

At home, place one printed page with crayons or colour pencils beside your child's reading area for a quiet activity. After colouring, ask your child to name the character, describe the setting and make up a short ending. In class, use a castle or knight page for a story starter, or group robot and wizard pages with a lesson on shapes and patterns. You can display finished work on a noticeboard, make a small story booklet or use the pictures for speaking practice. Keep a few pages ready for rainy day activities and early finishers.
