About safety

Safety topics in one place

This subcategory brings together six useful areas of safety learning. Road Safety Worksheets cover crossing streets, traffic lights and safe travel. Fire Safety Worksheets focus on smoke alarms, hot objects and what to do during a fire. Good Touch Bad Touch for Kids supports simple conversations about body boundaries and telling a trusted adult. Stranger Safety for Kids and Internet Safety for Kids cover safe choices with unfamiliar people and online contacts. Safety Rules Worksheets bring these ideas together through matching, colouring, sorting and short written tasks.

Choose the right level for your child

For younger children around 4 to 5, start with picture-based pages, tracing, colouring and sorting activities. You can talk through a road crossing picture or ask your child to circle safe choices. Children around 6 to 8 may manage short sentences, simple scenarios and answer boxes. Try a fire safety page after checking your smoke alarm, or use an internet safety worksheet to discuss private information. Read every page first and adapt any wording to your family's rules.

Use the worksheets at home or in class

Begin with a short conversation before your child starts writing. At home, practise a pretend road crossing near the front door, point out safe exits, or make a list of trusted adults together. In class, pair children to sort safe and unsafe actions, then invite them to explain one answer. Keep discussions about body safety calm and clear. Tell children that they can say no, move away and tell a trusted adult if something feels wrong. Repeat the activity later when a real-life situation gives it meaning.
