The set introduces the seven continents and five oceans through clear maps, matching tasks, tracing, labelling and simple questions. Younger children can colour large map areas, match names to pictures and practise recognising the first letters in continent and ocean names. Older children can label blank maps, compare the size or position of land areas, complete word searches and answer short geography questions. The activities move from recognition to recall, so you can choose a suitable sheet for Nursery, LKG, UKG or Classes 1 to 5.
At home, begin with a map activity and keep a globe, atlas or world map nearby for checking. Ask your child to find India, then locate the continent and ocean closest to it. In class, pair children for a map labelling task, or place worksheet sections at learning stations for colouring, matching and writing. Use one sheet as a short warm-up before a geography lesson and another for revision. Children can read the names aloud, point to each place and share one thing they already know about a continent or ocean.
Children often confuse continents with countries, or think that an ocean belongs to just one continent. Explain that a continent is a large land area containing countries, while an ocean is a large body of salt water between land areas. They may also mix up Europe and Asia, or forget that Antarctica is at the bottom of most world maps. Encourage your child to use position clues such as north, south, east and west, rather than memorising names alone. Check labels together and accept careful attempts before asking the child to correct them.
Children practise recognising and naming the seven continents and five oceans. They also work on map reading, location words, spelling and simple geography facts.
