About assessment & tracking

Assessment and Tracking Resources in One Place

This subcategory brings together simple tools for checking learning and recording progress. Preschool Assessment Checklist pages can help you note early skills, while Kindergarten Assessment pages cover common classroom areas. Progress Tracker sheets give you a place to record observations over time. Exit Tickets provide a quick check at the end of a lesson, and Report Card Comments offer prompts when you need to write a clear update. The topic pages are grouped by use, so you can choose a page for an observation, a lesson review or a term report.

Choose a Page by Age and Learning Level

Start with your child's age, class or current learning goal. For a three or four-year-old, use a Preschool Assessment Checklist during play, conversation or a short table activity. For LKG, UKG or early primary, a Kindergarten Assessment can help you review letters, sounds, numbers and classroom skills. Older children in Classes 1 to 5 may use Progress Tracker sheets for reading, maths or project goals. Choose an Exit Ticket after one lesson, rather than using it as a full assessment. Keep the task short and mark what your child can do independently.

Simple Ways to Use Them at Home or in Class

At home, choose one skill and complete the page during a calm five-minute check. Add the date and a brief note, such as needs a prompt or works independently. In class, keep a folder for each child or group the sheets by subject. Use an Exit Ticket before children pack up, asking them to draw, write one answer or circle a response. Review Progress Tracker pages weekly, then use your notes when preparing parent updates or Report Card Comments. Let children see their next small target so the record feels useful, not like a test.
