This set gives children several ways to meet the Arabic letter Haa, ه. Younger learners can colour the letter, follow large tracing lines and find Haa among other Arabic letters. Older children can practise its isolated, initial, medial and final forms, copy it on ruled lines and connect it with simple vocabulary. The worksheets use clear shapes and spacious writing areas, so you can choose a suitable starting point for Nursery, LKG, UKG or primary learners. Children who already know the alphabet can use the pages as revision.
Begin by saying the sound of ه slowly and showing the letter on the page. Ask your child to trace it with a finger before using a pencil. At home, match a worksheet picture such as a هلال, or crescent, with the letter and say the word together. In class, place completed pages in a letter folder, or let children work in pairs to circle Haa among mixed letters. A short session followed by a drawing of something that starts with Haa can keep the practice focused without making it tiring.
Children sometimes confuse ه with ح because both letters have a rounded shape. Remind your child that Haa has two dots above it, while Haa does not have the same open shape as Jeem, Haa with a dot below, or Khaa with a dot above. Arabic is written from right to left, so model the direction before tracing connected forms. Encourage a relaxed pencil grip and slow strokes. If a child writes a form backwards or leaves out the dots, point to the example, say the letter name, and let the child try again rather than rubbing out every attempt.
Haa is the Arabic letter ه, called هاء. It has two dots above it and makes an h sound in many common Arabic words.
Children can recognise ه, trace its shape, practise its connected forms and copy simple Haa words. Some activities also include colouring, matching and finding the letter among other Arabic letters.
Yes. Start with the large tracing and recognition activities for younger children, then move to connected forms and word practice as your child becomes more confident.
