This set gives children several ways to meet the letter Kaf, written as ك. Younger children can colour the large letter, find Kaf among other Arabic letters and follow tracing lines with a finger or crayon. Children who are beginning to write can trace the letter independently, practise its shape and copy it on guided lines. Older children can work with Kaf at the beginning, middle and end of simple Arabic words. The activities move from recognition to careful pencil work, so you can choose a suitable starting point for your child.
At home, begin with one short activity and say the letter name together. Point to ك on a worksheet, then ask your child to find the same letter on a book cover, label or handwritten note. In class, place a few completed sheets at a learning centre with pencils and crayons. Children can work in pairs, taking turns to circle Kaf or check a tracing path. Use picture activities before writing practice, then revisit the letter later in the week with a word such as كتاب, كرة or كوب.
Children may confuse ك with ق because both letters can look similar to a beginner, especially when they are working quickly. Remind your child to look carefully at the shape and the small angled strokes in Kaf. Arabic letters also change their joining shape within a word, so show one form at a time instead of asking a young child to remember every form together. Let your child trace slowly from the marked starting point, say the letter aloud and compare a careful attempt with the model. Praise attention to the shape rather than speed.
Kaf is the Arabic letter ك. It commonly represents a k sound, as in كتاب and كرة.
Children practise recognising ك, tracing its shape, copying it on lines and finding it in simple Arabic words. Some activities also introduce its connected forms.
Yes. Children aged 3 to 5 can start with colouring, matching and large tracing activities. Older children can move on to independent writing and simple word practice.
Say the letter name while your child traces it, then look for ك in familiar Arabic books, labels or notes. Short, regular practice is easier for young children than a long worksheet session.
