What is in this GK worksheet set

This set brings together everyday general knowledge in a child-friendly format. Your child may identify national symbols, match animals to homes, sort living and non-living things, name parts of the body, recognise means of transport and learn about seasons, food and community helpers. Picture-led pages give younger children a way to answer by pointing, matching or colouring. Older children can read clues, circle answers, complete words and group ideas. You can choose a simpler activity for a younger sibling or use the reading-based pages as Class 2 revision.

Simple ways to use the worksheets

At home, choose one page after a story, a nature walk or a visit to a market. Ask your child to explain one answer instead of completing the sheet in a hurry. In class, use a worksheet as a warm-up, pair activity or short recap after an EVS lesson. Children can work in pairs, compare answers and correct their own work with your help. Keep crayons nearby for picture tasks. A child who finds writing tiring can answer aloud first, while a more confident child can add one extra fact or draw an example.

Help children sort facts carefully

Children often confuse a place where an animal lives with the food it eats, or mix up vehicles used on land, in water and in the air. They may also choose an answer because its picture looks familiar without reading the clue. Read one clue slowly and ask, What does this tell us? Use real objects, picture cards or examples from your neighbourhood to check the idea. For questions about India, connect the worksheet to familiar national symbols, festivals, languages and places without expecting children to memorise too many names at once.

Lumi's tips

  • Make it easier by reading the clues aloud and letting your child point to or say the answer before writing it.
  • Make it harder by asking your child to add one reason, example or new fact beside each answer.
  • Keep it connected to real life by spotting transport, plants, signs and community helpers during a walk or trip.

Are these class 2 GK worksheets suitable for younger children?

Yes. Some pages use large pictures and simple choices for children aged about 3 to 5. Older children can use the pages with reading, clues and written answers.

How can I use GK worksheets in a Class 2 classroom?

Use a page for independent practice, pair work, a lesson recap or a short home task. Ask children to explain an answer so you can check their understanding, not just the completed boxes.
