A useful mix for different learners

This set brings together simple activities for children at different points in kindergarten. Younger children can trace lines, match pictures, sort objects, name colours, and count small groups. Older children can practise letter sounds, write numbers, complete patterns, compare amounts, and answer simple EVS questions. Picture clues and clear spaces help children work with less reading support. You can choose one suitable sheet at a time rather than expecting your child to finish the whole set. The activities also work well as gentle revision before moving from LKG to UKG or into Class 1.

Use the worksheets with everyday practice

At home, begin with a short oral activity. Ask your child to find three red objects before completing a colour or counting sheet, or say a letter sound and ask for a word that begins with it. In class, place different sheets at learning stations for tracing, matching, sorting, and number work. Let children use crayons for picture tasks and pencils for writing practice. Sit beside a younger child for the first example, then allow independent work. Keep completed sheets in a folder so you can see which skills need more practice.

Help with common early mistakes

Children often count the same object twice, miss an object, or write a number that does not match the group. Ask them to touch each item once while counting, then check the total together. Letter reversals and uneven letter size are also common in early writing. Show one large example, use verbal cues such as start at the top, and give your child time to try again. If a worksheet feels too hard, cover part of it and work through one row. Praise careful effort and clear thinking rather than speed.

Lumi's tips

  • Make counting easier by using buttons, bottle caps, or spoons beside the pictures on the sheet.
  • Make the work harder by asking your child to create one more pattern, word, or number sentence after finishing.
  • Link the sheet to real life by sorting laundry by colour, counting fruit, or spotting shapes around your home.

They give children practice with early English, maths, EVS, handwriting, patterns, matching, sorting, and simple reasoning. Use them alongside talking, play, reading, and hands-on activities.

Are these worksheets suitable for LKG and UKG?

Yes. Choose tracing, matching, picture, and counting tasks for younger children, then offer writing, number, pattern, and simple question sheets to children who are ready for more practice.

How long should a child spend on one worksheet?

A short session of 10 to 20 minutes is usually enough. Stop earlier if your child is tired, and return to the activity another day.

Can I download and print the kindergarten worksheets?

Yes. Most EarlyActivity printables are free to download with a free account. The PDF files can be printed for use at home or in your own classroom.
