The set introduces the े matra through clear letter practice, picture clues, word reading and simple writing tasks. Younger children can trace the matra, join pictures to words and identify words such as से, मे and खेल. Children who are ready for more can fill in missing matras, read short words and copy or write them independently. The pages offer a gentle move from recognising the sign to using it in words. Children who need more basic letter practice may also benefit from Hindi Swar Worksheets.
At home, begin with one or two words that your child already knows. Say each word slowly, ask your child to listen for the e sound, and then let them trace or complete the word. In class, place picture and word cards on a table and invite pairs to match them before starting the written work. You can read the words together, circle the े matra in one colour and draw a small picture beside a completed word. Keep a few sheets for revision rather than finishing the whole set in one sitting.
Children often know the sound but forget that the े sign is written before the consonant, as in के, even though it is read after it. Some may confuse it with the short i matra ि or the long ee matra ी. Say and compare pairs such as कि and के, or की and के, without rushing. Point to the consonant first, place the matra in the correct position, and read the whole word aloud. If a child spells by guessing from the picture, cover the picture briefly and encourage careful reading of each letter and matra.
The e ki matra is े. It makes the e sound and is written before the consonant, as in के, मे and से.
Children practise spotting the े matra, reading words, filling in missing matras, tracing and writing simple Hindi words.
The tracing, matching and picture-based pages suit many beginners in Nursery and LKG. Older children can use the reading, spelling and independent writing tasks.
Show that े is placed before the consonant in writing but read after it. Build words slowly, point to each part and read the completed word aloud.
