The set introduces children to familiar community helpers through clear pictures and simple labels. Cards may include people such as a doctor, teacher, police officer, firefighter, farmer, nurse, postal worker and sanitation worker. Younger children can point, name and match a helper to a workplace or tool. Older children can describe the job, say how the person helps others and sort cards into indoor and outdoor work. The uncluttered format gives children time to notice clothing, vehicles and everyday objects without too many details competing for attention.
At home, show one card at a time and ask, Who is this and how do they help us? Place two or three cards near toy vehicles or pretend-play items, then let your child choose a role. In class, make a small circle-time activity by hiding a card and giving clues about the helper's work. Children can match a doctor with a stethoscope, a farmer with crops or a postal worker with letters. For a speaking activity, invite each child to choose a card and complete the sentence, This helper helps us by... Use Hindi or your home language first if that helps children join in.
Young children often name a helper by a single object, such as calling anyone with a vehicle a police officer or anyone in a white coat a doctor. Gently draw attention to the whole picture and ask what the person is doing. A firefighter may use safety equipment, while a farmer may work with plants or animals. Children may also confuse a postal worker with a delivery person, so explain that both carry items, while postal work often involves letters and parcels. Accept close answers, repeat the correct word naturally and revisit the cards in short sessions.
Community helpers are people who do jobs that support, protect, teach or care for others. Examples include teachers, doctors, farmers, police officers and sanitation workers.
Begin with two or three cards. Name each helper, point to a clear detail and invite your child to repeat the word or match the card to a toy or picture.
Yes. Use familiar examples from the children's surroundings, such as a school teacher, doctor, farmer, postal worker or sanitation worker. Add local-language names when useful.
Ask children to describe what each helper does, name a tool or workplace, or sort the cards into groups. They can also make up a short sentence about helping the community.
